If they could have seen the joy . . . .

June 2, 2011. John Gay Camp (Ana, Faith, Sharon, Joe):

Tonight I watched several Guatemalan children coloring with the crayons and coloring books that had been donated to the Migrant Program this past winter. I had no idea who actually made this generous donation, but I thought that it would have been so nice if they could have seen the joy their donation made in the lives of complete strangers.

So many of the items donated from organizations around Beaufort this past year were passed out tonight and over the past several weeks to men and women coming to work in the sandy fields of Beaufort County. Soaps, shampoos, and conditioners from hotels and motels around the country. Notebooks, pens, pencils, and folders all put to use.

On behalf of those using these items, I want to thank all donors for their generosity. Your donations are being put to good use.
