Shop Camp (Ana, Violeta, Faith, Nick, Joe): One of the reasons I enjoy teaching in the migrant camps is that so many migrant workers understand the importance of education. You can often see it in their eyes. I feel this photo illustrates this eagerness.

We arrived at Shop camp after attending the Health Clinic orientation on Ball Park Road. Tonight was the "first night of migrant season" in which the clinic stays open until 10 p.m. in order to better serve migrant workers. As usual, Carolyn Davis demonstrated her knowledge of health issues affecting the migrant community.

At Shop Camp (7:30) we were met by students, many of whom were bringing their notebooks and pens. As of this moment, we have 10 OSY at Shop Camp (and numerous others beyond the age of 21 who desire to attend our classes.)

Tonight's lesson focused on the vocabulary and customs of ordering food in places like McDonalds. We also had students practicing common phrases in English. Before leaving, Nick gave each OSY student a Spanish-English Dictionary.
