Mayan Families Organization

If you get a chance, take a look at this Non-Profit Organization that is based in Guatemala on Lake Atitlan. Lord be willin', Amy and I plan to do some volunteer work for Mayan Families in July.

Amy and spent about a week in Guatemala in 1980 during a turbulent time in Latin American History. There was constant talk of the Domino Theory in which each Latin American country was supposedly a threat to fall to communism. I'm not sure about the reality of that particular scenario, but I can assure you that the Guatemalans were about the nicest people I have ever met. In fact, I still have a photo of a 7 year old boy that rode for over with Amy and I on a local bus to the ruins of Tikal.
